The White Salmon Are Back In White Salmon

Climbing the fish ladder
Today our beloved white salmon returned to their crosswalk habitat a bit earlier than usual. Twelve Community Partners volunteer herders (Barbara, Alan, Shari, Eric, Adele, 2 Tom’s, Randy, Chris, Maira, Patrick and Lloyd) helped the City Maintenance crew contain this year’s migration between crosswalk bars while still keeping the unusually heavy morning traffic moving.
We were able to get the whole job done in about 3+ hours and happily the day wasn’t a scorcher, although the mild temps and slow drying paint contributed to the traffic snarls.
The whole crew really appreciate the smiles and thumbs-up the passing motorists give despite the traffic snarls. Not so much the occasional overly self-important driver (You know who you are!).
We hope everyone ultimately appreciates the work that goes into this every year. Please let us know what you think in the Comments below
