The White Salmon Are Back In White Salmon
Today our beloved white salmon returned to their crosswalk habitat a bit earlier than usual. Twelve Community Partners volunteer herders (Barbara, Alan, Shari, Eric, Adele, 2 Tom’s, Randy, Chris, Maira, Patrick and Lloyd) helped the City Maintenance crew contain this year’s migration between crosswalk bars while still keeping the unusually heavy morning traffic moving. We were able to get the whole job done in about 3+ hours and happily the day wasn’t a scorcher, although the mild temps and slow drying paint contributed to the traffic snarls. 2022 Columbia Gorge Master Naturalist Field Course
The 2022 Columbia Gorge Master Naturalist Ecoregion Field Course will open for applications starting March 12, 2022. This course is part of the Oregon Master Naturalist Program offered through Oregon State University Extension Services. The course involves online materials, as well as in-person classroom and field sessions in the Columbia River Gorge area. The course leads to an Oregon Master Naturalist certification.
